Ogives - No 1 - Erik Satie (1866-1925) Tab by Jeff Kollasch, Jan 2021 ('jeffkollasch', contact at his gmail address). My arrangement of Satie Ogive #1 in the original key. https://youtu.be/SWdOeu61sVI (piano - Jean-Yves Thibaudet) The theme is first stated in octaves. Then fuller chords. In the final phrase the chord 310331 is achieved with a 1st fret 5-string barre with high arch in the middle allowing the open D to at least make a muted open D sound and not a D# sound from the barre which is incorrect. If you prefer to play 3xx331 without a barre you can but this is not conducive to a loud strum strum accross all 6 strings unless you are very good at damping at least the A string with your left middle finger. Open D ringing in the chord is an allowed note. The chord is brushed passed quickly so muted string sounds come out in the wash. Chords that look like 555433 are the price we pay for drop D. If you can't moosh the 3 fifth fret strings with two fingers, simply don't strum the low E string. I do not even attempt to fret or strike the low E on these chords in this piece. During the third statement (pianissimo) the 000xxx D5 chord can optionally be played with natural harmonics <12><12><12>xxx.
